Whitney Martin
Product design has enabled Whitney Martin to bring her documentary approach—raising the awareness and value of other people’s experiences—to the iterative process of design, inspiring a dynamic environment of inclusivity and collaboration.
I am a product designer based in Montana. With a background in photojournalism, I specialize in crafting meaningful stories through visual design and empathic research.
I had the privilege of working with Whitney as a mentor during her work as part of UX Academy at Designlab.
Whitney came to user experience design by way of a decade long career as a commercial and editorial photographer. While building her business in the midst of the Austin, Texas tech boom, she photographed portraits and events for print and digital marketing at companies including Google, Favor Delivery, and Edible Austin.
Product design has enabled her to bring her documentary approach—raising the awareness and value of other people’s experiences—to the iterative process of design, inspiring a dynamic environment of inclusivity and collaboration.
Whitney is currently working as a product designer for onX Maps based in Bozeman, Montana.

Arm Space Analytics
Arm, Inc deployed Space Analytics as part of Pelion Smart Spaces solutions to empower property managers with better visibility of space utilization and availability. By measuring occupancy of space through a heat sensor device, facility managers can increase revenue, lower operating expenses and enhance customer experience. Through human centered design methods, Aloki Design Studio sought to build a client user interface that would enable users to make important decisions regarding their space based on the data generated from Arm’s newest product.
